FAQ

THE ANSWERS.

What a seat costs, who supervises it, what happens when it cannot answer, and how to stop. If something is missing, the trial form takes a plain description of the job.

What is an AI Employee?

An AI Employee is a trained digital worker hired into a named role at your company — receptionist, support, sales development — and supervised by a named human. It is a seat, not a software licence. Before its first shift it reads your own history, tone and tools. A named supervisor reviews sampled work every week and signs the review, and the seat works every hour of the year.

What is a seat?

A seat is one AI Employee, hired into one role, working for you full time. The word is borrowed from headcount rather than from software: you are filling a seat on your team, not buying a per-user licence. One seat is one employee doing one job — a receptionist seat answers your phones, a support seat works your tickets. You hire more seats the way you would hire more people: when there is more work than the ones you have can do.

How is an AI Employee different from a virtual assistant?

A virtual assistant is a person you contract for a number of hours; an AI Employee is a supervised seat that covers all of them. A seat works 8,760 hours a year, costs less per month than the local statutory minimum wage, and does not vary between a Monday and a Friday. A virtual assistant brings judgement, can be told something once, and handles the genuinely unusual. Seats escalate exactly those cases to your team, under rules you set in writing.

How is this different from using ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a tool your staff open; an AI Employee is a seat that does the work without being opened. It is trained on your ticket history, your documents and your best reps' calls before it starts, it works inside the mail, calendar and CRM you already use, and a named human reviews sampled output weekly. The difference is accountability rather than capability: a chatbot returns an answer to whoever asked, and a seat owns an outcome and escalates what it should not decide alone.

Is an AI Employee the same as automation or RPA?

No — automation runs a defined process and stops when the situation does not match the script it was given. A seat is trained on how your business actually answers, so it handles the variations nobody wrote a rule for, and escalates the ones it should not decide. If your process is genuinely fixed and high volume, automation is cheaper and you should use it. Seats are for the work where the next case is not quite like the last one.

Should I hire an AI Employee or a person?

Usually both, because they fail in different places. A seat is right for volume, hours and consistency — the calls after six, the tickets on a Sunday, the follow-up nobody enjoys doing twice. A person is right for judgement, relationships and anything genuinely new, and no seat replaces that. The honest framing is that a seat buys back the hours your people spend on work they would not choose, and the comparison below is only about cost.

Which seats can I hire?

Six seats are on the roster: Receptionist, Sales Development Rep, Support Agent, Executive Assistant, Analyst and Marketing Manager. Every one runs on the same base model, trained into its role, so the job changes seat to seat and the standard does not. Seats that are not on the list are built to a brief, scoped first and quoted separately.

What does a seat cost?

A seat costs from R3,500 a month in South Africa, £450 in the United Kingdom, $600 international. That is the same base price for any seat on the roster, billed monthly and cancellable monthly. Add-on modules price separately on top of it, and metered usage — telephone minutes, WhatsApp conversations, SMS, recording storage and managed paid media — is passed through at cost and itemised, at rates that depend on carrier and country.

How does a seat compare with a salary?

A seat costs less per month than the local statutory minimum wage, and works 8,760 hours a year against a person's 2,080. On cost per hour actually worked that lands between a thirteenth and a twenty-fourth of the local salary for the same role, depending on region and seat. Every comparison here is against gross salary only — payroll taxes, benefits, equipment and desk space sit on top of that and are not counted, so the figure understates the gap.

How long until a seat starts work?

A seat starts work about two weeks after you order it. In that time the employee reads your ticket history, your documents and your best reps' calls, and is connected to the tools you already use — mail, calendar, CRM, sheets. There is nothing to install and nothing to migrate: the seat works inside the systems your team is already in.

Who supervises the work?

A named human supervisor at Value10x reviews sampled work every week and signs the review. Supervision is the model rather than a reassurance bolted onto it — a seat nobody checks is just software with a job title. You also set the escalation rules in writing before the seat starts, so the cases you want a person to handle never reach a machine's judgement in the first place.

What happens when a seat cannot handle something?

It escalates to your team with full context instead of guessing. A refund above your threshold, a legal question, an angry customer — you decide which cases those are, in writing, before the seat starts work. The seat hands over everything it has already gathered, so whoever picks it up is not asking the customer to start the conversation again.

Is there a trial?

There is a free two-week trial and it takes no card. Describe the job in the trial form and we tell you within a working day whether we can train a seat for it — and if we cannot, we say that too rather than taking the work anyway. The trial runs on your own tools and your own history, so what you see is what the seat would do.

What is included, and what is billed on top?

The platform is included free with every seat, for as long as the seat runs. That is the CRM, a landing page builder, an email campaign manager, social posting for every channel in one place, a QR code generator, and an integrated booking calendar your customers can self-schedule into. It is opt-in and yours to ignore — not a trial, not an expiring discount, and taking none of it does not change the price. Metered usage is billed separately and passed through at cost, itemised: telephone minutes, WhatsApp conversations, SMS, recording storage and managed paid media.

Can I cancel?

Yes — the agreement is month to month and cancellable monthly, with no severance and no notice period. The seat price is the same whether you commit for a month or for a year — a twelve-month term waives the setup fee rather than changing the monthly figure. Stopping costs nothing, which is deliberate: a seat should have to earn the next month every month.

What if the seat I need is not on the roster?

Custom seats are scoped before they are priced, and can cost more than a seat from the roster. Describe the job in the trial form and we tell you within a working day whether we can train a seat for it, what it would take, and what it would cost. The six published seats are the ones we have built most often, not the limit of what a seat can be trained to do — but a job nobody has trained a seat for yet has to be scoped before anyone can quote it honestly.

Still deciding? The trial runs two weeks, costs nothing, and takes no card.
